This China Ethnic Guizhou tour will bring you into the backward west part of China, where 55 minorities live in their unique cultures and customs for thousand of years. The chorus and Lushen dance of Miao, the Water Splashing Festival of the Dai people, the March Fair of the Bai people, the Torch Festival of the Yi people, the face-painting of Delong, the unique life style of the Moso people, the ancient music of the Naxi people, and Kashigar Bazaar on the silk road… All these together with the colorful customs, the exquisite ethnic handcrafts, the elegant buildings, numerous loving legends and delicious cuisines will leave you with a happy memory that will last a lifetime.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Departure

Departure with early afternoon flight from Vancouver B.C.to begin this fascinating journey to the capital of China, Beijing. Your flight will include drinks, meals and in-flight entertainment.

Arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport in mid-afternoon and meet our local English-speaking guide and transfer to the 5-star hotel located in the heart of the city. A light meal follows orientation and then you can stroll around in the downtown shopping center or be at leisure. (D) Beijing international hotel 5 star.

Day 3 -Arrival in Guiyang, the capital city of Guizhou, a truly exotic and amazing place. Best known as its minorities, beautiful mountains and China’s largest waterfall. Visit the flower and bird market and Jiaxiong Pavilion Buddhist temple in old architecture with dragons first built in 1592. 

Day 4 -Day trip to Huangguoshu Waterfalls, largest waterfall in China formed by 18 waterfalls of various sizes. Then visit Dragon Palace with a boat ride in caves.

Day 5 - Drive to Kaili, a small town and home of Miao people, 200 Km to the east of Guiyang. Upon arrival, visit Kaili Museum with a large collection of cultural display of Miao minority people. Then visit Matang Gejia village, famous for its batik and embroidery. The Miao people will greet you at the gate of the village with wine and singing and dancing performances. Visit the minority families and get to know the life style of the local minority people.

Day 6, Drive to Leishan and visit the Miao villages, the clothes and buildings are the most beautiful and unique in Guizhou so called living museum and walk in the countryside.

Day 7, Attend different festivals on different departures. (As there are many exciting festival in Guizhou, this tour will combine following different festivals in different times of the year)

Day 8, Day trip to Xijiang to visit the biggest Miao village in Guizhou

Day 9, Drive to Rongjiang about 165 Km to the east of Kaili and enjoy the country landscape of terraced fields, rivers and hills, en route with a visit of Chejiang Dong villages.

Day 10, Via Congjiang drive to Zhaoxin visit Dong villages and Drum Towers there.

Day 12, Drive to Guilin famous for its vertical limestone mountains rising above flat tree-lined streets, rice, water chestnut field and also known for its caves with a visit to Dragon's Backbone paddy terraces.

Day 13, Enjoy a gentle start to the day on a cruise of the Li River, which stretches 83 kilometers from Guilin to Yangshuo. Have lunch on boat while enjoy the glassy surface of the water mirrors the towering mountains and green shores. There’s also a walk through some nearby local farm and a stop in the lively Yangshuo, a charming town frequented by young western backpackers. Visit markets of the town.

Day 14, Today we explore the area to Moon Hill where you will have a great views of lush countryside. You can also visit the mud baths for a soak or watch the cormorant fishing. Then we drive to the Yulong river, enjoy a scenic two-hour boat excursion to the village of Fuli. Explore this small village with its whitewashed buildings, decorative fan factories, and friendly residents. Finally we stop at Xingping, an ancient town with a history of more than 1,300 years. It is also an area where the best scenic sights of the Li River locate. Bill Cliton, former president of the U.S.A visited one of old fishing villages of Xingping in 1998. Drive back to Guilin.

Day 15, This morning we have a finial explore of this beautiful town or just have a relax. We drive to airport back to Beijing.
